This is a rare opportunity to own a property in the HEART of historic Cedar Key, Florida! This historic structure, previously a private home, had been utilized as the Cedar Key City Hall for many years. Hurricane flooding and resulting damages spurred the City to move offices to an already-owned building on high ground, in order to forego repairs and to provide municipal services without interruption in the future. The decision has been made to remain in the new building, so the Old City Hall building is available for purchase! You cannot ask for a better location for a downtown home, a business, or a vacation rental. With a future land use designation of Mixed Use, you could both have a business here, AND live at this location! The building was stripped to dry and prevent mold, and the floor has been removed. The extensive rooftop solar array is still in place. Three entrances make multiple use easy to accommodate. If you want a great spot to provide an easily-accessible island business, here's your chance. The island is still in need of a replacement grocery store, and the City Commission, acting as the CRA Board, recently decided that they are creating a CRA grant for up to $150,000 for a downtown grocery. What a way to offset some of the restoration expense and provide a much-needed local essential business! Call to take a look today!
